FFEU partner, Siavosh Derakhti, held a youth #FFEUSOT on October 16th, 2018 and attended the Jewish assembly in Malmo, Sweden to discuss ways to fight anti-Semitism, which is a big issue in the city. The event was to show support to the Jewish community and to find ways to educate more people about Jewish life, culture and situation in Malmo in the future.

Another #FFEUSOT event by our partner, Young People Against Antisemitism and Xenophobia (UMAF), led by Muslims activists Siavosh Derakhti and Samer Alazawie in Malmo, Sweden on October 15th, 2018:
UMAF held a youth event and hosted representatives of the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Sweden. Anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and other issues facing Malmo and Sweden were among the topics discussed. Youth in attendance shared their experiences, visions, challenges and solutions about the past, present and future for Malmo, Sweden and Europe.
On October 11, 2018, FFEU’s partner in Sweden, Young People Against Antisemitism and Xenophobia (UMAF), led by young Muslim activists Siavosh Derakhti and Samer Alazawie, held an inspirational youth event in Malmo. The group hosted Mr. Stefan Zablocki, a Holocaust survivor as the keynote speaker. The event was part of FFEU’s Season of Twinning 2018 and was the kickoff of FFEU’s signature program. This year the theme of the Season of Twinning is “Common Fate, Common Faith”. Thank you UMAF for your partnership in Sweden.
